The NY Jets will no doubt be fighting an uphill battle in 2022, and despite all the improvements that Joe Douglas has made to this squad, they'll still be looked down upon by the majority of the NFL media landscape.

Rightfully so, as they've not yet proven anything, but given the Jets' fantastic young core, they could surprise anyone in 2022. That said, there's no doubt that they'll be underdogs in the majority, if not all of their 2022 games.

The Jets' offense will garner the most attention in 2022, as Zach Wilson may be the most important player to the future success of this franchise, but it's the defense that will be under the biggest spotlight during this season.

Sure, the Jets will go up against some tough defensive units, but today's NFL is all about offense These five stand out among the best of the best that the Jets will need to stop in 2022.

1. The NY Jets will have to stop Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in Week 1

While Lamar Jackson hasn't proved himself on the biggest NFL stages yet, he has stamped his place as one of the most dynamic and explosive players in the league, as week after week is filled with No. 8 highlight plays.

Although the wide receiver group may not be one of the best in the league, it's still full of talent, and pairing that with Mark Andrews at tight end and a solid running back group, the Jets face one of their toughest offensive challenges right out of the gate.

That may work in the Jets' favor as they have a chance to ambush the AFC North heavyweights before they can get rolling, but if the Jets sit back and allow Jackson and this offense time and space to move, it could be an ugly start to the season.
