4. NY Jets target: Chandler Jones, DE

The Jets are looking to upgrade their pass rush this offseason, and while they could do so in the 2022 NFL Draft, one notable name they could target in free agency is Chandler Jones.

Jones reached the 100-sack milestone in his career this past year in Arizona finishing with 10.5 sacks — the seventh time in his career he's recorded double-digit sacks in a season.

Even at 32-years-old, Jones still has plenty left in the tank and should have a sizable market in free agency. Spotrac projects his market value at roughly three years, $44 million or around $14.5 million per season.

That's a hefty price tag, but given the Jets' obvious need to upgrade their pass rush, it's one they might consider paying.

The Jets will return Carl Lawson in 2022, but it would be foolish to bank on him returning to full strength as he recovers from a torn Achilles. The likes of John Franklin-Myers and Bryce Huff are good players, but the Jets need a true difference-maker on the edge.

Chandler Jones could be that guy. Now, it's probably more likely the Jets target a younger player in the draft, especially in such a deep edge rusher class.

On top of that, there's no guarantee that Jones would even want to sign with the Jets at this stage of his career. He's likely looking to join a contender. Still, it's worth making the call nonetheless.
