2. The NY Jets can trade for WR Courtland Sutton

Speaking of the cap-strapped Broncos, another player who has come up in trade rumors is wide receiver Courtland Sutton. The Broncos already traded one starting wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy, this offseason. Could Sutton join him on the trade market?

The former SMU star is coming off an impressive 2023 season in which he finished with 59 catches for 772 yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns. Sutton is a former Pro Bowler who would give the Jets the rock-solid WR2 they've been looking for.

Sutton still has two years remaining on his contract and would cost less than $10 million against the cap for the Jets in 2024 if he was traded. That's remarkable value for a player of his caliber.

Unfortunately, the Broncos aren't exactly looking to trade Sutton anymore after Jeudy was dealt. The Jets would likely have to make an offer they couldn't refuse to make this one work.

1. The NY Jets can trade for WR Brandon Aiyuk

The Jets have given themselves enough financial flexibility to make a major splash for a high-profile wide receiver if they feel the need to. Brandon Aiyuk could be that player.

Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2024, and rumors suggest the former first-round pick doesn't intend to play on the fifth-year option next season. He wants a new contract.

The 49ers wide receiver is coming off a career year in 2023 in which he hauled in 75 catches for a whopping 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. Aiyuk and Garrett Wilson would form arguably the best wide receiver duo in the NFL.

Now, the Jets would likely have to give up significant assets to make this trade happen, plus they'd need to extend Aiyuk. This feels similar to the Tee Higgins situation. I wouldn't count on this trade happening, but it's worth mentioning as a pipedream possibility.
