The NY Jets made their first major move of the offseason on Wednesday, acquiring a new starting right tackle in Morgan Moses. The Moses trade put an end to what had been a quiet and lackluster few days for the organization.

But just because the Jets haven't been super active in the high-end free-agent market to this point doesn't mean they won't be. With plenty of financial flexibility, the Jets absolutely have the assets to make a splash or two in free agency if they want to.

The good news for the Jets is that there are still quite a few high-profile names remaining on the open market. While some of the top free agents have already signed with new teams, there are still a few intriguing options available.

These might not all be the most likely Jets target, but each of these five players would represent a high-profile free-agent addition at a position of need.

5. The NY Jets could sign S Kamren Curl

The Jets parted ways with starting safety Jordan Whitehead this offseason, as the Pittsburgh product re-signed with his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Wednesday.

While the Jets did bring back Chuck Clark, there are doubts about Ashtyn Davis returning, and it might make sense to add to their safety room. The biggest defensive splash the Jets can make at this point is probably Kamren Curl.

Seen by many as the top safety on the market this offseason, Curl turned just 25 years old this month and has developed into one of the best young safeties in the NFL over the last four seasons with the Washington Commanders.

Curl is a versatile and talented safety who would essentially complete the Jets' defense going into the 2024 season. Unfortunately, he likely won't come cheap, and general manager Joe Douglas hasn't shown a tendency to spend big at this position. I wouldn't count on this happening.
