The NY Jets said goodbye to a number of former players this offseason as their roster reshaping continued. With players like Aaron Rodgers, Allen Lazard, and many others coming to town, the Jets were never going to keep everyone under contract.

Sheldon Rankins signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans. Nathan Shepherd is going to be making $15 million over three years with the New Orleans Saints. Seemingly every other former Jets player signed with the Miami Dolphins, including Mike White, Braxton Berrios, and Dan Feeney.

Others such as James Robinson stayed in the division to sign with the New England Patriots. Nate Herbig will be playing with his brother in Pittsburgh. That said, not every Jets free agent has signed with a new team.

There are still a few Jets unrestricted free agents who remain unsigned into June. Let's take a look at five of the most notable names.

5. Joe Flacco, QB, NY Jets

Believe it or not, Joe Flacco has spent the better part of the last three years with the Jets. One of the few holdovers from the Adam Gase era, Flacco entered the 2022 season as the Jets' primary backup and even started the first three games of the year while Zach Wilson was sidelined.

In those three games, Flacco threw for five touchdowns and helped orchestrate a miraculous comeback win over the Cleveland Browns with a four-touchdown performance in Week 2.

Once Wilson returned, Flacco would be relegated to the bench and even lost his primary backup job to Mike White at one point. Flacco did actually start Week 18, meaning that the last time the Jets played a football game, it was Flacco leading the way.

The addition of Tim Boyle means it's hard to imagine the Jets re-signing Flacco, although Robert Saleh did leave the door open for his return last month. The most likely scenario is that he simply retires unless another team is desperate for QB help.
