The New York Jets swung for the fences and finally made the trade that was the worst kept secret in the NFL by trading for Davante Adams. The Jets' offense has struggled despite having Aaron Rodgers healthy and back in the starting lineup so the hope is that the addition of Adams will put this team back on the track we were all expecting them to be on.
Throw rookie running back Braelon Allen into the mix of players who are psyched to see Adams joining the Jets. Allen took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his emotions, dropping a Madden reference. "Feel like I'm in a Madden franchise rn" Allen wrote and he isn't lying.
This Jets team does feel like a Madden squad, as Rodgers is the quarterback and has a plethora of talented weapons around him. Rodgers and Adams made magic happen during their time in Green Bay together and the Jets front office is hoping that the magic can continue in New York and help the Jets win games.
Braelon Allen expresses how all Jets fans feel following Davante Adams trade
The Jets are 2-4 despite being labeled as a Super Bowl contender before the season began. The hope was that a healthy Rodgers would be enough to get this team to the playoffs in 2024 considering the offense he had around him. Sadly though, that hasn't been the case.
The offense struggled so much that Robert Saleh lost his job after just five games this season. While the offense did look better in Week, Rodgers threw a game-ending interception against the Bills and now Adams is coming to the Big Apple to help this offense thrive. That's the hope anyway.
We'll see if Allen's Madden comment ends up playing out and if this ends up being the missing piece for the Jets.
