The NY Jets and Buffalo Bills will meet for the first time this season on Monday Night Football tonight. It may only be Week 6, but this has all the makings of a must-win game for the Jets.

The Jets have lost each of their last two games, prompting team owner Woody Johnson to make the shocking decision to fire now-former head coach Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start to the year.

Of the 224 teams to start with a 2-4 record since 1990, only 24 of them have gone on to make the playoffs. Jeff Ulbrich is hoping to lead his Jets team to a massive primetime victory over their division rivals, which would send them to first place in the AFC East past September for the first time since 2010.

The Bills have similar stakes on the line. Buffalo has also lost each of its last two games and is hoping to hold on to first place in the division. A third consecutive loss to a Jets team with an interim head coach would send shockwaves throughout the organization.

The Jets have ruled out cornerback Michael Carter II with a back injury while the Bills will be without star defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who is sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Running back James Cook is questionable with a toe injury.

Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Bills tonight? We've got you covered.

Full inactives list for NY Jets in Week 6

  • RB Israel Abanikanda
  • CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse
  • CB Michael Carter II
  • WR Malachi Corley
  • DE Braiden McGregor
  • OT Max Mitchell
  • OT Carter Warren

The Jets will be without standout nickel cornerback Michael Carter II in Week 6. Carter has been ruled out with a back injury he suffered in pregame warmups last weekend. Expect the likes of Isaiah Oliver and Brandin Echols to fill in at nickel in his place.

The Jets elevated safety/cornerback Jalen Mills from the practice squad to take Carter's spot on the game-day roster. Tight end Anthony Firkser was also elevated from the practice squad and will be the team's fourth tight end.

Starting right tackle Morgan Moses makes his return this week after a two-week absence as rookie Olu Fashanu returns to the bench. Fashanu will be the Jets' only backup offensive tackle, with both Max Mitchell and Carter Warren inactive.

Rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley is a healthy scratch for the second week in a row. He's joined by running back Israel Abanikanda, cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse, and defensive end Braiden McGregor, who were each inactive last week as well.

Linebacker C.J. Mosley and tight end Tyler Conklin, both listed as questionable, will be active tonight. Mosley's return could force Jamien Sherwood into a smaller role on defense.

  • RB James Cook
  • S Mike Edwards
  • LB Joe Andreessen
  • LB Edefuan Ulofoshio
  • OL Will Clapp
  • DT Ed Oliver

The Bills will be without star defensive tackle Ed Oliver for the second consecutive week tonight. Oliver was ruled out with a hamstring injury after not practicing all week.

That will force an already lackluster Bills run defense to lean on the likes of DaQuan Jones, Austin Johnson (returning from an oblique injury), and DeWayne Carter in his absence.

Running back James Cook is inactive as he will miss the first game of his NFL career with a toe injury. Cook returned to practice in a limited capacity on Saturday but is inactive tonight. The Bills elevated Frank Gore Jr. from the practice squad to make his NFL debut. Expect plenty of touches for rookie Ray Davis and Ty Johnson.
