The NY Jets are just hours away from their final game of what has been a calamitous 2024 season. The Jets will play host to the Miami Dolphins in a Week 18 game that has significant stakes for both teams.
The Dolphins are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive and are desperate for a win over their division rivals. As for the Jets, there are serious 2025 NFL Draft implications in today's game.
A Jets loss could see the team climb as high as No. 2 in the draft order while a win could have them fall as far as No. 9 overall. That could be the difference between the Jets landing a blue-chip, can't-miss prospect and a back-end top-10 prospect in a weak class.
Unfortunately for Jets fans rooting for the tank, Miami will be shorthanded this week. The Dolphins are expected to be without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is listed as doubtful with a hip injury. Backup Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is expected to start in his place.
Other key players such as wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (knee), wide receiver Tyreek Hill (wrist/illness), left tackle Terron Armstead (knee), and safety Jevon Holland (wrist) are all listed as questionable on the Dolphins' injury report.
The Jets are dealing with injuries of their own ahead of today's game. Cornerback Sauce Gardner was placed on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury this week, officially ending his season. The Jets elevated cornerback Tre Swilling from the practice squad to help replace him.
Jets players listed as questionable include defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (hamstring), tight end Tyler Conklin (calf), right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle), and right tackle Morgan Moses (knee). Williams didn't practice all week and is a genuine concern to miss the Jets' season finale.
Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Dolphins today? We've got you covered.

- EDGE Braiden McGregor
- SAF Jaylin Simpson
- CB Michael Carter II

There are a couple of surprise inactives for the Jets this week. Starting nickel cornerback Michael Carter II is inactive despite not being listed on the team's final Week 18 injury report.
Carter has been nursing a back injury for most of the season and it seems the Jets have decided to finally shut him down. Expect veterans Kendall Sheffield and Isaiah Oliver to fill in at nickel cornerback.
Right tackle Morgan Moses is also out with a knee injury. Moses was listed as questionable but was expected to play. Instead, the Jets play it safe with their veteran tackle and will likely start Max Mitchell and Carter Warren at offensive tackle.
Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is active despite not practicing all week. The Jets signed veteran Bruce Hector to their active roster this week, so the team will have plenty of defensive tackle depth if Williams can't handle a full workload.
