The New York Jets were projected to be one of the worst teams in the league during the first season of new head coach Aaron Glenn, and they have met those expectations after soiling themselves in a Monday Night Football game against a Miami Dolphins team that also came into Week 4 as a winless team.

Between the double-digit penalties, the inability to slow down Tua Tagovailoa after weeks of very poor play, and Justin Fields looking completely out of his element for the entire first half, things got so bad that anonymous NFL sources have now started to officially laugh at the Jets for their classic brand of incompetence.

An NFL source sarcastically told Connor Hughes that the Jets are a "buttoned-up operation." For context, Hughes' tweet came right after Jets returner Isaiah Williams fair caught a punt at the two-yard line, which led to another ineffective drive that ended in a punt.

The Jets need to turn things around fast, as these last few games are taking them from a bad team to one of the most pathetic operations in the league.

Glenn defenders will point to the fact that this team is severely lacking in talent on both sides of the ball. This is a young team that is frustrated with a slow start, and that could be a challenge for any head coach to work through, regardless of past experience.

However, there are operational mistakes that shouldn't be happening. Between the false start penalties that scream poor communication between quarterback and offensive line, fumbles at the goal line and on kickoffs that no other team in the league is dealing with, and frustration personal fouls, discipline is clearly lacking here.

The Jets are playing at a level that puts them on par with some of the worst teams in the league. Even as the schedule starts to get a bit easier in the next few weeks, the Jets will be the game that all those other bad teams are viewing as an instant win that

Right now, Glenn is not a good coach. There is a mountain of evidence that hints at the idea that he could eventually become a good coach, but the Jets need to put up with some severe growing pains before they even have a chance at becoming a threat for the postseason.
