The speculations have been confirmed. As NY Jets pass rusher Haason Reddick prepares to miss his sixth straight game amid his unprecedented holdout, his agency decided to part ways with him. Agents exist to make clients money, and CAA decided that Reddick was going against their advice and sabotaging contract talks.

Amid Reddick's decision to lose nearly $10 million in fines and rumors that hinted he shot down a nearly completed contract extension CAA and the Jets worked out, Tory Dandy decided that Reddick was no longer worth representing. Despite that, the Jets are interested in locking Reddick up long-term.

While the Jets have a tremendous defense, they need one more playmaker alongside Will McDonald in their pass rush stable to give them some more teeth. Reddick could fit the bill, and it seems like his latest moves could be a precursor to getting a deal done in the near future.

Reddick has hired power broker Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha to be his new agents. Rosenhaus added that he will meet with the Jets before their Monday Night duel against the Buffalo Bills in an attempt to bury the hatchet and get Reddick on the field as soon as possible.

The Jets currently have three solid defensive linemen on a team that plays as many as 10 routinely. Quinnen Williams is a tremendous defensive tackle, McDonald can get after the quarterback, and Javon Kinlaw is average. Outside of that, things are grim with or without Reddick.

The biggest issue the Jets have had this season on defense is the inability to stop the run. Reddick won't solve that issue instantly, but he will be able to get after the quarterback. A 1-2 punch of Reddick and McDonald on the edge could get offenses scared of this front once again.

Reddick has likely hurt his value to the point where a deal at the top end of the market is likely not going to happen. What makes the most sense is Reddick getting a contract that compensates him well for the next two years, both of which seem to be years the Jets will try to contend.

Reddick has become public enemy No. 1 in New York for his silly holdout, but this news makes it seem like there could finally be a thaw in relations betweeen the two aggrieved parties.
