Maybe Browns fans can give it a rest.

When the New York Jets traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick, they were hoping to get one of two things from the veteran safety's services. One, be a leader for a defense that desperately lacked them, and two, make plays. It's safe to say he's succeeding in both departments.

In Week 4, Fitzpatrick, in his first game back from injury after missing two straight games with a groin ailment, picked off Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent for the Jets' first interception in almost a year and a half, breaking the NFL's longest-running drought.

The former Miami Dolphins draft pick has been an awesome presence for New York's defense, giving them a new identity with his hard-nosed style of play. Some of the hits he's been delivering have been brutal, to say the least.

Take the one he laid on Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion in Week 5. The play has made some Browns fans lose their mind, begging the NFL to throw Fitzpatrick out of the league. Well, after Concepcion's analysis of the play, Cleveland may want to take a step back.

KC Concepcion says Minkah Fitzpatrick's hit wasn't dirty

Concepcion was, in fact, concussed on the play and would not return to the game after sustaining the hit from Fitzpatrick. But he seems fine now and appears ready to suit up for Cleveland's Week 6 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Browns rookie was asked on Friday what he thought of Fitzpatrick's hit, and Cleveland fans may want to cover their ears for his response.

"I know the game that I started to play. This game is a very physical game. To me, it wasn't a dirty hit. It was just a football play."

After the complete and utter meltdown Browns fans had over Fitzpatrick's hit this past week, it's cool to see Concepcion come to the defense of a player who has nine years of NFL experience under his belt.

Fitzpatrick isn't a dirty player. He plays a position that requires him to make his presence felt when the ball comes his way, and that's exactly what he does. He isn't trying to hurt anyone when they're out there on the field.

Regardless, both Jets and Browns fans are likely happy to see Concepcion back on the practice field this week and ready to go despite the concussion. No one wants to see a player miss time with an injury.
