The NY Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers appear ready to swap quarterbacks ahead of the 2025 season, as all signs point to Aaron Rodgers joining Mike Tomlin after former first-round pick Justin Fields signed with Aaron Glenn's new-look franchise in the 2025 offseason.

Both Fields and Rodgers will get the chance to exact some revenge against the team that spurned him, and those who created the 2025 NFL schedule wanted to make sure this attempt to get one over on their former teams wasn't held until later in the season.

The Jets' 2025 schedule has confirmed that Fields and the Jets won't have to wait long to get their shot at proving themselves, as both teams will open the season against one another in Week 1. Even though the Jets have a handful of primetime games this year, this might be the most-watched matchup on the calendar.

Jets QB Justin Fields could get revenge against Steelers in Week 1

Fields led the Steelers to a 4-2 record as a starter with Russell Wilson injured, but he apparently didn't play well enough for Pittsburgh to keep him in as QB1 when Wilson returned to full health. They made a push to retain him in the offseason, but the Jets were able to move in quickly.

Fields will try to lead a Tanner Engstrand offense that will make no bones about the fact that they want to run the ball early and often in 2025. With Breece Hall and Fields' legs able to tear up even more robust defenses, the Jets will need to set the tone at the line of scrimmage to upset Rodgers.

The Jets' new-look offensive line, led by a pair of first-round picks in left tackle Olu Fashanu and right tackle Armand Membou, will be thrown into the fire right away. Future Hall of Famer TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith will come roaring off the edge alongside fellow first-rounder Derrick Harmon and the great Cam Heyward inside.

If Fields is able to overcome the sack issues that have plagued him in his career and distribute the ball to Garrett Wilson as often as possible, there's a very good chance that the Jets can send Rodgers back to the Steel city with an 0-1 start under his belt and the sweet taste of revenge in their mouth.
