One of the fastest-moving parts of the offseason is always the flurry of undrafted free agent signings immediately following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, and this year was no different.
The New York Jets were busy once the draft ended, signing 12 college free agents, including two special teamers in a kicker and long snapper, a linebacker, a cornerback, a tight end, two wide receivers, and two running backs. You can check out the full list here.
Of course, not every one of these undrafted free agents is going to make it through the summer to the Jets' 53-man roster. They have an uphill battle to carve out a role for themselves.
But Bleacher Report believes there's one particular undrafted free agent who has a good chance of making the Jets roster, and it's Caullin Lacy.
Louisville WR Caullin Lacy named most likely to make Jets roster
According to B/R's Kristopher Knox, the Louisville product could end up being a member of the Jets' opening day roster thanks to his ability to contribute on both offense and special teams.
"Former Louisville receiver Caullin Lacy doesn't possess the same upside as Sadiq or Cooper, but after signing with New York, the undrafted rookie should have a real shot at making the roster. The 5'9â…›", 183-pound receiver and returner spent four seasons at South Alabama before his last two at Louisville. This past season, he averaged 18.2 yards per return while scoring twice on punts. He'll have a chance to stick as an offensive gadget player and return specialist."Kristopher Knox
Lacy went undrafted in 2026, but that didn't stop him from getting invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. In his final year at Louisville, the 24-year-old hauled in 54 receptions for 547 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite adding a wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Jets still have a fairly thin group of pass catchers. Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, and Omar Cooper Jr. are the clear top three options, but behind them, it gets a bit murky.
2025 fourth-round pick Arian Smith had a fairly underwhelming rookie season to say the least, and left a lot to be desired. Special teamer Isaiah Williams was an awesome returner last year, and can contribute on offense, but isn't a regular receiving option.
If Lacy can make an impact over the summer, he's got a real chance of not only being on the roster but being a piece of the Jets' passing game in 2026.
