The New York Jets have officially completed their 2026 NFL Draft, wrapping up the second draft class of the Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey era.
The Jets opened the weekend aggressively, making three first-round selections with Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey at No. 2 overall, Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq at No. 16, and Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. after trading back into Round 1.
The Jets followed that up on Day 2 by selecting another Indiana standout in cornerback D’Angelo Ponds, then added several intriguing Day 3 names such as Florida State defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. and Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik.
But the work is far from over. For many teams, the most exciting part of Day 3 begins after the draft ends, when undrafted free agency officially opens. Every year, quality prospects slip through the cracks and quickly become priority targets across the league.
Some of those signings go on to compete for roster spots, make the 53-man roster, and carve out lengthy NFL careers. That is where The Jet Press UDFA Tracker comes in.

Running list of New York Jets undrafted free agent signings
Caullin Lacy, WR, Louisville - SOURCE
The Jets' first undrafted free-agent signing is the undersized but shifty Caullin Lacy. At 5-foot-9, 183 pounds, Lacy was a quality underneath receiving option at Louisville, although he made an even bigger impact as a returner.
Lacy has three return touchdowns over the last two seasons and four in his college career, including two punt return scores in 2025. It's no surprise that he went undrafted, given his size and meager testing numbers (4.55 40-yard dash), but Lacy has a real chance to stick on the 53-man roster if he proves his worth on special teams.
Garrison Grimes, LS, BYU - SOURCE
The Jets have curiously signed long snapper Garrison Grimes as a UDFA, perhaps calling into question the future of the incumbent Thomas Hennessy. Grimes transferred to BYU in 2025 after three years at Baylor and was named Second Team All-America by the AFCA this past season.
Hennessy still has two years remaining on his contract, but the Jets could release him with a dead cap hit of just $175,000. Grimes received a perfect 10.00 RAS (Relative Athletic Score), making him the most athletic long snapper in NFL history. Time will tell if that's enough to earn him a roster spot.
Will Ferrin, K, BYU - SOURCE
The Jets have now signed both BYU's long snapper and kicker, adding 2024 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year Will Ferrin. Ferrin tied BYU's record with a 56-yard field goal last season, finishing the year 23-of-30, including a 4-of-6 mark from 50+ yards out.
The former Boise State recruit joins a Jets kicker room that already features Cade York and Lenny Krieg, giving the team three current options. Grimes' familiarity with Ferrin could give him a leg-up in a competition with Thomas Hennessy if the BYU kicker wins the job.
Kendrick Blackshire, LB, UTSA - SOURCE
A former Alabama recruit, Kendrick Blackshire played 24 games over three seasons with the Crimson Tide before transferring to UTSA in 2024. Blackshire started 11 games this past season, finishing the year with 48 tackles, an interception, and one pass breakup.
At 6-foot-1, 236 pounds, Blackshire posted a middling 7.69 RAS, although he ran a blazing 4.51 40-yard dash at his pro day. He will compete for a roster spot as a depth linebacker with a chance to carve out a role on special teams.
Chip Trayanum, RB, Toledo - SOURCE
A former four-star recruit who spent time at Arizona State, Ohio State, and Kentucky before finally landing at Toledo, Chip Trayanum is a powerful, bruising back who stands at 5-foot-10, 224 pounds.
Trayanum rushed for over 1,000 yards at Toledo last season and was considered a potential Day 3 pick in this year's draft. The first-team All-MAC selection has extensive special teams experience and was highly regarded as a blocker in college, giving him a chance to stick around past the summer.
Mory Bamba, CB, BYU - SOURCE
A native of Ivory Coast, Mory Bamba ran track at Wisconsin-Oshkosh and spent a couple of years at Florida-based ACA College before finally finding a home on the gridiron at BYU in 2022.
Bamba started just eight games in college and will turn 26 years old in November, but he offers a highly intriguing blend of size (6-foot-2) and blazing speed (4.29 40-yard dash). He will be a very interesting player to watch this summer.
Xavier Hill, OL, Colorado - SOURCE
A former three-star recruit, Xavier Hill spent time at LSU and Memphis before transferring to Colorado for his graduate senior season. Hill started 10 games for the Buffaloes, allowing three sacks, one quarterback hit, and 11 hurries.
At 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, Hill is an experienced guard who started nearly 40 games in his college career. He will be a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but he has a chance to stick around on the practice squad with a strong summer.
Nathan Voorhis, EDGE, Ball State - SOURCE
Nathan Voorhis is a sawed-off, undersized edge rusher who was ultra productive at Ball State. Voorhis earned first-team All-MAC honors in 2025, finishing with 51 total tackles (31 solo), 17 TFLs, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two QB hits.
At just 6-foot-2, 251 pounds, Voorhis's lack of size and lackluster testing numbers were why he went undrafted, but he's a high-effort player who was extremely productive in college. The Jets are hoping that effort can carry him to a role in the NFL.
DT Sheffield, WR, Rutgers - SOURCE
The Jets keep it local, signing the shifty DT Sheffield as their second undrafted wide receiver addition. Much like Caullin Lacy, Sheffield is undersized at just 5-foot-7, 175 pounds, playing exclusively as a slot receiver at Rutgers in 2025.
Sheffield spent three years at Northwest Mississippi Community College and a year at Washington State before breaking out at North Texas in 2024, earning first-team All-AAC honors. A former high school quarterback, Sheffield converted to wide receiver in college and was used as a punt returner at North Texas as well.
He faces an uphill battle to make the Jets' 53-man roster, but Sheffield does have two years of quality production at the FBS level under his belt despite his size. His path to a role will, of course, likely come through special teams.
