Jets score rare win over Bills after atrocious uniform unveiling

The New York Jets have found it almost impossible to pull out a win against Josh Allen and the rival Buffalo Bills, but they stumbled into one via their aesthetic loadouts ahead of 2026.

Just a few days after the Jets added to an already snazzy roster ensemble with a sleek all-white helmet that blends in perfectly with their sleek 1980s-inspired threads, the Bills unveiled one of the worst alternate uniforms in recent NFL history. If the Jets aren't going to beat the Bills on the field, at least they can score some points off it.

The Bills have a perfectly classic blue, white, and red look supplemented with either clean white or throwback red helmets. Their new "Nickel City" alternate look is a drab gray affair that is made worse by a minimalist blue helmet that eschews their famous Buffalo logo in favor of making that red streak on their logo gigantic. What on Earth was the design team thinking?

Jets fans can mock Bills for much-maligned alternate uniform

The Jets have had some uniform missteps over the years themselves. As clean as their 2000s/2010s green jerseys were, they may have been just a tad on the bland side. The rebrand during the Adam Gase era, which included a giant "New York" on the chest, a metallic helmet, and weird slashing lines on the shoulders, was widely mocked.

The Jets have realized the error of their ways and introduced a new look that ranks among the NFL's best. With the old-school logo returning along with a jersey that strikes a balance between visually interesting and not having too much going on, the Jets may have struck gold.

The much-maligned Rivalry jersey that sees them in an off-cutting blackish-green that looks like a manhole cover in a number font that just does not work isn't great, but it's still better than this mess. Calling these the "Nickel City" uniforms, when it seems like just about every Bills fan in upstate New York is hearing about that term for the first time, is the cherry on top of this mistake.

Unless this is some elaborate April Fool's prank that missed the mark by about four months, the Bills' new uniforms were a huge misstep for a team that usually has some pretty sleek threads. They could beat the Jets by three touchdowns in those uniforms when they play, but at least New York will look cooler when doing so.
