The New York Jets are getting active in the pass-rushing market, reportedly agreeing to terms with former Green Bay Packers pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare to a one-year, $10 million deal, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Enagbare, the 179th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, had spent the first four years of his career with the Packers. Despite recording only two sacks in 2025, the South Carolina product is a solid depth signing and will play a rotational role in the Jets' edge room.
The news came shortly after New York reportedly agreed to terms with former Cincinnati Bengals pass rusher Joseph Ossai, and it's obvious the Jets are trying to load up on pass rushers.
Kingsley Enagbare's potential impact with the Jets
With Enagbare, the Jets aren't getting a full-time starter. Despite never missing a game over his four-year career, he's only started 21 games with the Packers, just three this past season.
Despite that, Enagbare still seems to find his way to the quarterback. A situational pass rusher, he's racked up 11.5 sacks over his tenure in Green Bay. SNY's Connor Hughes provided analysis on Enagbare's game from an anonymous defensive coach:
"Enagbare described as "tough" and "made of the right stuff." He'll effort his way into plays, but he has some athletic limitations which can lead to missed plays."Connor Hughes
Sounds like a player with the skill and mindset that Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn were searching for in free agency, not necessarily a game-wrecker, but has the character needed to tread the waters in New York when the going gets tough.
Enagbare may end up being the perfect role model for a player like Will McDonald IV, or any other incoming edge rushers the Jets are likely to select with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Jets have made a point to reportedly target edge early in this legal tampering window, and it remains to be seen if they'll add more. But for now, a room of McDonald, Ossai, Enagbare, and a potential blue-chip prospect is a nice place to start.
