While the New York Jets are still basking in the glow of a well-received 2026 NFL Draft spearheaded by David Bailey and Kenyon Sadiq in the first round, Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn are looking forward to a 2027 class that many believe will be superior.

Not only will the Jets have the chance to possibly select a franchise quarterback, but with two extra first-round picks by way of some Mougey trades, the Jets could build the rest of their roster into an absolute juggernaut.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic released his first 2027 NFL Mock Draft. The Jets, who are picking No. 4 overall in this exercise, did not take a quarterback that high after Arch Manning and Dante Moore went off the board. Instead, they used the No. 4 pick on star Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore.

With the No. 15 pick, which originally belonged to the Indianapolis Colts, the Jets take their swing on a franchise quarterback with another golden-domer in Irish signal-caller CJ Carr. The Jets will use the No. 19 pick, originally belonging to the Dallas Cowboys, on Ole Miss defensive tackle Will Echoles.

Moore is viewed as one of the best cornerback prospects in years and someone who will likely go in the Top 10 no matter what happens next season. With length, feistiness, and a cerebral football brain, the only question surrounding Moore's pro stock is how high it is appropriate to select a cornerback. On the field, he's a stud, and he can easily replace Brandon Stephens.

Carr completed 66% of his passes in his redshirt freshman season, throwing for 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. While he is more likely to head back to school and declare for 2028 than some of the other top prospects, his impressive downfield accuracy and strong arm might win him some fans in the pros.

Echoles has not only shown to be one of the best run-stuffing defensive tackles in the SEC, but the rising junior managed to pile up five sacks, showing some pass-rush upside. Echoles may be a long-term successor to Harrison Phillips and David Onyemata if they leave in free agency.

Landing a franchise cornerback, Sauce Gardner replacement, and long-term space eater on the inside could be yet another way for Mougey to keep building the Jets into a team that can make some noise.
