The New York Jets didn’t move from their No. 7 spot in the 2026 NFL Draft order following Sunday’s 34–10 loss to Miami, but their outlook still improved following what was a chaotic week of football.
ESPN Analytics now gives the Jets a five percent chance to land the top pick, up from just two percent a week ago. Their odds of securing a top-five selection jumped as well, climbing to 59% after Sunday’s results. The Jets are now projected to pick fourth, an improvement from last week’s projection of fifth.
Tennessee’s late win over the Cleveland Browns dropped the Titans in the draft order, New Orleans stunned Tampa Bay in one of the biggest upsets of the year, and every other team in the top-ten mix took losses.
With four games remaining in the season, the Jets are firmly in the mix for a top pick in the 2026 draft. Let's take a look at the updated standings.
Where do the Jets stand in the updated 2026 NFL Draft order?
Number | Team | Record | Strength of Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | New York Giants | 2-11 | 0.534 |
2 | Las Vegas Raiders | 2-11 | 0.548 |
3 | Tennessee Titans | 2-11 | 0.573 |
4 | Cleveland Browns | 3-10 | 0.486 |
5 | New Orleans Saints | 3-10 | 0.498 |
6 | Washington Commanders | 3-10 | 0.511 |
7 | New York Jets | 3-10 | 0.541 |
8 | Arizona Cardinals | 3-10 | 0.570 |
9 | Los Angeles Rams (via Atlanta) | 4-9 | 0.502 |
10 | Cincinnati Bengals | 4-9 | 0.523 |
The biggest draft order shakeup of Week 14 came from the Titans, whose 31–29 win over Cleveland dramatically changed the top of the board. Jets fans had every reason to root for the Browns — a Cleveland win would have pushed the Jets ahead of them in the standings — but instead, the Titans slid down to No. 3.
That’s not ideal for the Jets, who would prefer a non-QB-needy team like Tennessee (Cam Ward) or the Giants (Jaxson Dart) to control the top pick. Those teams are far more likely to entertain a trade down, which would open the door for the Jets to make a run at Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, who remains the consensus QB1.
The Saints’ stunning win over Tampa Bay also altered things. New Orleans now sits at No. 5, but the Jets–Saints matchup in Week 16 could flip that order entirely. The Cardinals, Commanders, and Browns all lost, keeping the 3–10 cluster as tight as ever.
Looking ahead, the Jets’ remaining schedule works both for and against their draft outlook. The Jaguars, Bills, and Patriots are all fighting for playoff seeding, meaning the Jets will be an underdog in at least three of four games. The Saints matchup, however, is the true game to watch.
Elsewhere, all eyes will be on Raiders–Giants in Week 17. Las Vegas’ only realistic chance at another win comes in that matchup, and Jets fans will be rooting hard for the Raiders.

If the Raiders land the top pick, there's a good chance they'd take Mendoza themselves, which could close the Jets’ path to a top quarterback. But if the Giants or Titans finish with the worst record, the possibility of a trade up stays alive.
The draft order will continue to change over the next month, and the Jets will be keeping a close eye on every result that impacts their spot. The race to the bottom continues.
