While the NY Jets continue to suffer through bad quarterback play and another lost season, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith was able to beef up his new team's playoff case thanks to a comeback victory that felt like the latest kick in the groin for a beat-up fanbase.

While Smith's Seahawks dug themselves an early hole, they erased the 21-7 hole and eventually took back a 26-21 victory. Smith went 20-31 through the air with 206 passing yards and one touchdown, moving to 7-5 while his old team slumped to an extremely painful 3-9.

The Jets will likely be looking elsewhere for a quarterback in 2025, as the Aaron Rodgers experiment has gone belly-up. With the Seahawks a team that could conceivably move away from the aging Smith for a younger option, Smith's latest posts online confirm he is not going to the Jets anytime soon.

Smith's first post on social media after the win was a meme that those termally online Gen-Zers would recognize instantly. For the uninitiated, the meme refers to a picture in which the subject went to one of his biggest hater's funeral, just to make sure they were dead. To play armchair psychologist, Smith doesn't like the Jets.

Smith's touchdown-interception ratio may not be ideal in his first season under new OC Ryan Grubb, but he did come into this game leading the NFC in passing yards. Smith now has the Seahawks at 7-5 and in line to start a home playoff game in Mike Macdonald's first season as a head coach.

In four years with the Jets two of which were spent as the primary starter, Smith threw just 28 touchdown passes against 36 interceptions. While Smith was playing terribly during that stint, he was also dealing with a nightmarishly bad offensive coaching staff and a total absence of quality perimeter playmakers.

Smith's rebirth in Seattle has led to Pro Bowl nods and what could be two postseason appearances in three seasons. The Jets, meanwhile, are in a very tough spot. They likely will not be bad enough to draft either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they also will need a new QB1 if they part with Rodgers.

Smith has been keeping receipts on those who doubted his ability, and he has earned the right to clap back at them. It's a shame that Jets fans once again have to take this broadside.
