Former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers continues to weigh his options for the 2025 season. The future Hall of Famer is in no rush to decide on his NFL future, leaving multiple teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, in limbo.

Another former Jets player and newfound Steelers cornerback who would like to reunite with Rodgers is Brandin Echols. The former Jets sixth-round pick signed with the Steelers this week and is already on the recruiting trail.

Echols was asked at his introductory press conference if he's trying to recruit Rodgers to join him in Pittsburgh, and he made his thoughts on the matter abundantly clear.

"Hell yeah, tell his a— to come on," Echols told Steelers media. As Steelers fans wait not-so-patiently for Rodgers to make a decision, one of his former teammates is applying some pressure. Echols wants him in Pittsburgh.

Rodgers is the top available quarterback option remaining on the market this offseason. The Steelers are widely considered to be the slight favorite to land the four-time MVP, but they aren't alone.

The New York Giants have also made an aggressive push for Rodgers this offseason. Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll know that they have to win in 2025 to keep their jobs. That's why they pushed hard to land Matthew Stafford before he re-upped with the Los Angeles Rams.

Rodgers is their Plan B, but signs point to him preferring a team like the Steelers or even the Vikings, who are reportedly keeping tabs on his market. Minnesota's interest may be a key factor in the delay.

Of course, this is also Aaron Rodgers we're talking about. Rodgers famously made the Jets and Green Bay Packers wait months before he made a decision on his future a couple of years ago. A few days is nothing compared to the "darkness retreat" fiasco of 2023.

The longer Rodgers waits, however, the more he holds up the quarterback market. Russell Wilson is also said to be a target of the Giants and possibly the Steelers. He visited with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday and is set to visit the Giants on Friday. But for now, teams are still waiting on Rodgers to make up his mind.

Echols' blunt words reflect the Steelers' urgency — both within the organization and among the fan base — to get a deal done. But Jets fans know this story all too well. If history is any indication, a resolution isn’t coming anytime soon.
