The Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams reunion is no more. The longtime Green Bay Packers teammates were briefly reunited this past season after the NY Jets acquired Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The short-lived reunion had its moments, with Adams quickly reclaiming his role as Rodgers' go-to target, but the trade ultimately proved to be a failure for the Jets, who finished the season 5-12.

The Jets decided to move on from both Rodgers and Adams this offseason, sparking rumors that the two could look to reunite on a new team in 2025. On Sunday, Adams ended any hopes of following his longtime teammate to his new destination.

The Los Angeles Rams signed Adams to a two-year, $46 million contract with $26 million in guarantees less than 24 hours before the unofficial start of free agency on Monday. The move all but guarantees Rodgers and Adams will not be teammates next season.

Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers have likely played their last season together

There were rumors that Rodgers had interest in joining the Rams this offseason. Los Angeles may have considered it as well if contract talks with Matthew Stafford had fallen apart and led to a trade.

In the end, the Rams were able to retain Stafford, forcing Rodgers to consider other options. Adams chose to sign with the Rams, even though it meant he would no longer be playing alongside his longtime quarterback.

With Rodgers now on the wrong side of 40, it’s increasingly likely that he and Adams have played their final game as teammates. If that’s the case, it marks the end of one of the greatest quarterback-receiver duos in NFL history.

The only quarterback-wide receiver pairings in league history to record more touchdowns than Rodgers and Adams (82) are Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison (114) and Steve Young and Jerry Rice (92).

Rodgers will turn his attention to the likes of the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks, all of whom are reported to have interest in the four-time MVP quarterback. Unfortunately, he'll do so without his close friend and longtime teammate.

The Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams era has officially ended — again. Their brief and underwhelming Jets stint will likely mark the last time they share the field as teammates.
