As the NY Jets prepare for their Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills — and fantasy football managers prepare for championship weekend — the team might be without the services of star wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams popped up on the injury report with a hip injury on Wednesday and did not practice. The All-Pro wide receiver was spotted working off to the side with injured players during Thursday's practice and was once again listed as a DNP.

The Jets have not provided any definitive update on Adams' availability for Sunday's game, but the fact that he didn't practice on either Wednesday or Thursday isn't an encouraging sign.

If Adams fails to practice again on Friday, the Jets will likely be without their star wide receiver against the Bills — and fantasy managers might be without their WR1 (or WR2) in their championship matchups.

Davante Adams injury could force him to miss NY Jets' Week 17 game

Adams apparently suffered the injury during the Jets' Week 16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, although he was able to finish the game with seven catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Adams and Aaron Rodgers tied Miami’s Dan Marino and Mark Clayton for the third-most touchdown connections (82), including playoffs, by a quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history in that game.

The six-time Pro Bowler has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL since joining the Jets. Adams ranks ninth among all players in catches and is tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns since Week 9.

Adams previously appeared on the injury report with a wrist injury back in Week 11 but has been healthy since then. He's yet to miss a game as a member of the Jets.

ESPN's Rich Cimini did speculate on Thursday that Adams "has a better chance of playing" than cornerback Sauce Gardner, who is nursing a hamstring injury and also hasn't practiced this week. That doesn't mean either will play, however.

If Adams were to miss Sunday's game, the Jets would lean on the likes of Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Xavier Gipson, and Malachi Corley. Wilson, in particular, would figure to be even more of a focal point on offense.

Jets fans and fantasy managers should keep a close eye on the Jets injury report on Friday. If Adams returns to practice, there's a good chance he plays this week. If not, it's probably best to start looking for alternative options.
