NY Jets running back Breece Hall was one of the hottest commodities in fantasy football circles entering the 2024 season. Most assumed that Hall was primed for a monster season with an improved offensive cast around him, including the return of Aaron Rodgers.

After all, Hall had finished fourth in the NFL in scrimmage yards a year ago and was widely seen as one of the best running backs in the league. Unfortunately, fantasy owners and Jets fans alike have been extremely disappointed with Hall's production to this point.

The former Iowa State star is currently averaging just 3.0 yards per carry through five games as part of a Jets offense that ranks dead-last in rushing. Hall has been one of the biggest letdowns of the 2024 fantasy season.

But there is a reason for optimism entering the Jets' Week 6 game against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Hall and the Jets could be primed for their first breakout rushing performance of the season in tonight's game.

Tonight could be Breece Hall's fantasy breakout game of 2024

Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich is reportedly determined to implement a run-first approach to the offense moving forward. New offensive play-caller Todd Downing has also been known to rely heavily on his running games.

That's good news for Hall, who enters a Week 6 matchup against a Bills team that has struggled to defend the run this season. The Bills have the 26th-ranked run defense in the NFL in 2024 and will be without their best defensive lineman, Ed Oliver.

Oliver is the centerpiece of the Bills' defense and one of the most valuable players on the roster. Buffalo has lost both games Oliver has missed over the last two years, and his team has struggled in run defense in each game.

On top of that, the weather report for Monday night's game calls for extreme winds, which should also encourage teams to run the ball more. It's a perfect storm (no pun intended) for a Hall breakout performance.

The Jets' offense should also see a heavy dose of rookie running back Braelon Allen, but Hall remains the leader in the backfield. He should be the focal point of the offense in tonight's game.

Breece Hall fantasy owners have remained patient as their supposed star player has struggled mightily through the first quarter of the season. Jets fans have remained patient as well. Tonight could be the night that we see a vintage Breece Hall performance.
