AFC East power rankings: Is Garrett Wilson the best wide receiver?

The New York Jets may be in for yet another tough season in 2026, but they can lean on the fact that they will build around one of the best wide receivers in the game in Garrett Wilson.

Wilson remains one of the premier wide receivers in the league despite the fact that he doesn't have the same gaudy statistics as many of the best players at the position. Even with that qualification, other AFC East teams will be worried about how to stop him.

Even when compared to many of the other best players at his position in the AFC East, there aren't many who can even claim to be close to Wilson as a performer.

5. Romeo Doubs, New England Patriots

Doubs is getting paid a good chunk of change to be a No. 2 wide receiver, but with 21 touchdowns in the last four years, he has proven he can play that role with aplomb. Doubs' arrival in New England could be the catalyst for his first 1,000-yard season in the NFL.

4. Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

Shakir has quietly caught 70 passes in each of the last two seasons. Even though he is not a No. 1 wide receiver in most offenses, Shakir's role as a complementary target underneath could set the Buffalo offense apart from other contenders in 2026.

3. D.J. Moore, Buffalo Bills

Moore had a down year after failing to fit into Ben Johnson's offense, but he has consistently been a top performer despite some very bad quarterback play for the bulk of his career. Going to Josh Allen as a No. 1 target is only going to increase his numbers.

2. Garrett Wilson, New York Jets

Wilson had three 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career with a quarterback situation that was so bad that calling it "wretched" doesn't even begin to describe it. In a functional offense, Wilson can remind everyone why he is one of the most talented skill-position players in franchise history.

1. A.J. Brown, New England Patriots

The Patriots got Drake Maye exactly what he needed: a vertical deep threat with the size to win regularly on the outside. Even if New England takes a step back in 2026 as their schedule gets harder, Brown's alpha mentality on the outside will help the offense pick up where they left off.
