New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn didn't provide fans with a lot of optimism throughout his first season at the helm in New York.
Despite having expectations to at least show some sign of life, the Jets were abysmal in 2025, winning a grand total of three games and boasting a bottom-tier offense and defense.
It's reasonable to assume Glenn would be on the hot seat entering 2026. New York's electric offseason has added plenty of talent to both sides of the ball, and the defensive coordinator turned head coach is taking the reins on playcalling.
If the Jets don't perform in 2026, it should cost Glenn his job. But even still, Bleacher Report doesn't expect the head coach to be on the hot seat.
Aaron Glenn not listed on Bleacher Report's 'Hot Seat Meter' for NFL head coaches
B/R's Moe Moton compiled a list of six NFL head coaches and ranked them based on a "Hot Seat Meter" heading into a make-or-break 2026 season. Surprisingly enough, Glenn was not named on the list.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, and Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, all coaches who have had more success than Glenn, were named.
Moton may be expecting the Jets to have a turnaround season in Year 2 of the Glenn era, and it's certainly warranted. With the additions they made on both offense and defense, there's no excuse for the team to be as bad as they were in 2025.
If they are, it would almost certainly spell the end of Glenn in New York. Heading into 2027, the Jets will have the most cap space in the league, three first-round picks, and a young and ascending roster with hopeful stars.
The Jets, if Glenn isn't able to get the most out of the team, may be the most attractive opening in the NFL in next year's hiring cycle.
But first things first, the 2026 season will have to play out, and we'll see for sure if Glenn is deserving of not being listed as a head coach on the hot seat.
