The New York Jets offense has not been operating at full strength the last few weeks, and it's been in large part due to a bad case of the injury bug. Starters Adonai Mitchell, Breece Hall, Dylan Parham, and Omar Cooper Jr. have all missed various amounts of time with individual ailments.
The most mysterious injury of the bunch was Mitchell's. Unlike the other three previously mentioned names, the former Indianapolis Colts draft pick's finger incident occurred in practice. It was quite the surprise to see him pop up on the injury report ahead of Week 3 in Detroit.
Mitchell had been mostly questionable ever since, and the Jets were doing their best to keep things under wraps about what was really going on with the third-year wide receiver. At Wednesday's press conference, Aaron Glenn finally revealed what had been speculated on for the better part of a month.
"AD Mitchell, he did have a small procedure on his hand, but the good thing is man, he's moving his fingers around really, really well. And I'm still going to put him on this week-to-week deal," Glenn told reporters.

New York Jets fans can stop freaking out about Adonai Mitchell's injury
Mitchell's injury was a point of contention for frustrated Jets fans recently. Analysts like Jake Asman used it to denigrate Glenn after he refused to give a straight answer about the severity of the injury at his Friday press conference leading into the Browns game.
This is now my favorite Aaron Glenn press conference answer ever. You have to laugh at the absurdity. 😂 pic.twitter.com/SZzrGa1t8v

First of all, why would the head coach of any NFL team be looking to make every bit of injury information possible leading into a game? There's a level of gamesmanship each team tries to deploy before each matchup, and even though Mitchell had already been ruled out for Week 5, Glenn was likely trying to keep the New England Patriots on their toes ahead of Week 6.
Second, yes, Glenn's record as coach of the Jets is a measly 5-17, but if it were any other head coach across the league, they would likely be praised for their attempt at misdirection, not clowned on by the likes of a personality like Asman.
There are a lot of things that people can disparage Glenn for throughout his tenure as coach of the Jets, but injury information isn't one of them.
If New York's doctors felt Mitchell was likely out for a month or more, they would've advised the team to put him on short-term injured reserve. It's not like anyone was negatively impacted (aside from fantasy football people) by keeping the Mitchell injury under wraps.
