Heading into the New York Jets' Week 6 matchup against their AFC East division rival New England Patriots, the case could be made that it was the biggest game of head coach Aaron Glenn's career.

The Jets don't often win in Gillette Stadium, and on top of that, they have yet to win a division game under their current head coach. That didn't change on Sunday, as New York ultimately fell 26-19.

It wasn't all bad, though, and there was certainly some good that went along with the plenty that went wrong. Who stood out in Week 6, in both a positive and negative light?

Winners and losers from the New York Jets' Week 6 loss to the Patriots

Winner: WR Omar Cooper Jr.

There was no bigger bright spot for the Jets today than the return of rookie Omar Cooper Jr. New York's 30th overall pick this past spring was making his re-debut after an injured reserve stint stemming from a Week 1 injury.

Cooper, stepping up with Adonai Mitchell out, did not disappoint. Despite a penalty wiping away an early touchdown grab, the Indiana product finished the day with six catches for 103 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown pass from Smith in the third quarter. There will surely be another belt delivered to Florham Park this week.

Loser: Jets pass rush

After a dominant eight-sack outing against the Cleveland Browns last week, the Jets' pass rush was virtually non-existent against the Patriots. They didn't record a single sack and consistently failed to get pressure on New England's Drake Maye.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Glenn was asked about the defensive front's struggles. After pointing to the Patriots' game plan regarding chipping their edges, he subtly mentioned that the Jets need more from their interior pass rush.

Winner: LB Jamien Sherwood

There's been a bit of a spotlight on Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood the last few weeks. He started off the season incredibly poorly, but has slowly bounced back over the last few games and has been putting together some solid outings. He may have been New York's best defender in Week 6.

Sherwood had a team-high 11 tackles in New England, and even showed some incredible hustle on a late forced fumble on DeMario Douglas. Sherwood's punchout saved the Jets from possibly being put away earlier than expected and proved that his motor is still there.

Loser: OC Frank Reich

The Jets may have no bigger problem on their hands than their current offensive operation, and ultimately that falls into the lap of offensive coordinator Frank Reich. New York's playcalling and offensive situational awareness were questionable at best on Sunday.

New England was constantly sending blitzes at the Jets, and they were not equipped to pick them up. To make matters worse, Reich was consistently dialing up long-developing pass plays, allowing Patriots defenders to drill Geno Smith. It was not a great offensive game plan, to say the least.

Winner: K Jason Sanders

This past week, the Jets lost their backup kicker, Blake Grupe, to the Los Angeles Rams. The former Indianapolis Colts kicker was New York's insurance policy behind a shaky Jason Sanders.

Well, Sanders is slowly shaking off his reputation as a spotty kicker after an up-and-down summer. On Sunday against New England, the former All-Pro was money, drilling 4-of-4 field goal attempts, the longest coming from 42 yards out. It may be time for Jets fans to stop worrying about the kicker position.

Loser: HC Aaron Glenn

Glenn isn't a loser after Week 6 in the traditional sense that he coached a bad game. In fact, the Jets' head coach should get credit for keeping his team in the fight despite going down by two scores heading into halftime.

But where Glenn can be dinged is for recording a new low in the Jets' head coaching history. Jets X Factor's Connor Long pointed out that he's the first head coach in team history to start his tenure with a 0-7 record against the AFC East. To state the obvious-- not ideal.
