The New York Jets are still basking in the glow of a strong 2026 NFL Draft class that was well-received by the media and managed to check off many of their biggest roster holes with players who can come right in and contribute now.

Despite Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn doing well in this Draft, the threadbare roster they inherited was too poor to be completely overhauled in one offseason. There are still a few areas on this roster that need one more player to supplement what they have before it can be called a strength.

These three areas of the Jets roster are worth questioning, and it wouldn't hurt to add one or two more players to ensure these units as a whole manage to get some reinforcements.

3 biggest holes on Jets roster after 2026 NFL Draft

3. Center

The Jets got uncommonly lucky in terms of offensive line health last year, and they also got a better season out of Josh Myers than anyone expected. However, should Myers either regress or get injured this

Would they kick one of their guards, Dylan Parham or Joe Tippmann, over to center? How about cross-training rookie guard Anez Cooper (who only played right guard in college) at that spot?

2. Backup Quarterback

The Jets' quarterback room behind starter Geno Smith is led by fourth-round rookie Cade Klubnik, who almost assuredly was not selected to be a contributor in 2026. Frank Reich and Aaron Glenn need to peruse the market and find a quality veteran.

Russell Wilson has been mentioned as a popular name for that role, as is 2025 holdover Tyrod Taylor. One of them needs to be in New York before the season comes around, as Klubnik as QB1 may not maximize the new pass catchers they have on the roster.

1. Linebacker

With the Jets opting for David Bailey over Arvell Reese and choosing not to reinforce this position on Day 3, New York is heading into the season with a 37-year-old Demario Davis and Jamien Sherwood fresh off a wretched 2025 campaign as the starters at linebacker with minimal depth behind them.

Without a free agent signing, Mykal Walker and Kiko Mauigoa would get into games as the top backups. Veterans like Bobby Okereke and Matt Milano are still out there, and the Jets have enough cap space to bring one of them in to add more competition for Sherwood.
