As the New York Jets officially ended their organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, head coach Todd Bowles made sure he left his players with a clear message before their big break before training camp.

Mandatory minicamp of the New York Jets is officially in the books as now, players are off until around the end of July. It’s a time where a lot of players and the coaching staff take a much-needed break from the gridiron and enjoy some rest and relaxation.

The majority of players will likely continue their offseason training and continue to hone their craft for the upcoming season. Some might also give into temptation and do or be a part of something they’ll regret in the future.

It’s no secret that the Jets have an issue when it comes to players staying out of the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully, not a single player ends up being “the guy” that makes another mistake into an offseason headline.

Head coach Todd Bowles continues to make sure his players know what is at stake as the Jets do their best to bounce back from two straight 5-11 seasons. As per the Media Relations Department of the Jets, here is what Bowles left his players with before their big break until training camp:

On his message to the team over the break…Study, go over things they have learned here, make sure that they stay in shape and be in shape, stay out of trouble obviously and come back ready to work.

Bowles hit the nail right on the head with this one as hopefully, his players listen to this and come back ready for more. It won’t be easy for the Jets but as always, it’s good to take things one day at a time and prepare for tomorrow. Here’s to a nice break before training camp without any offseason distractions for a team that is trying to rebuild into a winner over the next few years.
