2018 NFL Draft New York Jets Live Tracker: Day 2
Heading into the 2018 NFL Draft, here is a live tracker for everything and anything involving the New York Jets as they prepare for Rounds 2 & 3.
The 2018 NFL Draft will continue tonight starting at 7:00 P.M. Eastern Time and will feature Rounds 2 & 3. This is where most general managers can make or break their careers based on these super important decisions in the middle rounds of the NFL Draft. The New York Jets, fresh off of making quarterback Sam Darnold their selection with the No. 3 overall pick, only have one pick on Day 2 of this year’s draft.
At this point in time, the Jets currently have pick No. 72 in Round 3. Of course, general manager Mike Maccagnan has been known to wheel and deal trades to acquire more picks so hopefully, he can somehow get more selections tonight.
For this live tracker, we here at The Jet Press will only post tweets/updates from official, verified, and legitimate sources so don’t worry about anything fake or bogus being updated below. If Maccagnan makes any big trades or the Jets are rumored to select a certain player when they’re on the clock, this will keep you posted.

NFL Draft 2018: Jets' Nathan Shepherd goes from working at plant nursery to replacing Mo Wilkerson. Funny how the NFL — and life — works sometimes. https://t.co/LnlcRDqAaB

The Jets like Shepherd's potential and downplayed the age issue. Bowles said he expects him to be in the D line rotation. The draft gurus all seem to love this guy.

Shepherd was out of football in 2013 and 2014. Then he went to Fort Hays State where he had 10 sacks in three seasons.

Shepherd is 24 years old and considered very raw. Weird to draft someone that age that may take a while to develop.

Jets draft setup tonight: If they stay at #72 in Rd 3, it would come 69 picks after #3 pick of Sam Darnold. That would be the longest wait betw top 2 picks in Green&White draft history. (Pvs long: Kenrick Ellis at #94 went 64 picks after Mo Wilkerson at #30 in 2011.)

Josh Rosen will make about $13 million less with the Cardinals than Sam Darnold will with #Jets, in his rookie contract. Jets passed on Rosen and Josh Allen to take Darnold. https://t.co/uLhS5Xm2Z7
