Heading into Week 12 fantasy football, make sure to sit wide receiver Jermaine Kearse of the New York Jets against the tough defense of the Carolina Panthers.

The New York Jets are, as always, entering another “must-win” situation. They are set to have a home game against the Carolina Panthers in Week 12 as they need to win more football games to keep their playoff hopes alive. Their offense, however, continues to be one of inconsistency and bizarre play calling. Is it even worth starting wide receiver Jermaine Kearse in your fantasy football lineup?

To be blunt, no. Kearse has tremendously fizzled out over the past few weeks and hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins. As a matter of fact, in Week 10 before the Week 11 bye of the Jets, Kearse only totaled 35 receiving yards on four receptions.

This is due to a number of factors, mainly the inability of quarterback Josh McCown to truly air it out. Combine that and the rise of wide receiver Robby Anderson has put Kearse in a rough spot on the depth chart of the Jets.

More from The Jet Press

It’s best to sit Kearse this week since not only will the Jets more than likely lose this game against the Panthers, but he’s just not the same offensive threat he once was at the start of the regular season. Since the Jets plan to hopefully go back to establishing and committing to the run game against the Panthers, means Kearse will probably continue only getting a handful of passes coming his way.

Fantasy football owners would be wise to sit Kearse and not even think twice about it. He’s not going to do much of anything as this is an unfavorable matchup, to say the least. If you own Robby Anderson, on the other hand, he might be a better starting option but when it comes to Kearse, he’s not even worth putting in as a FLEX this week.

Sit Kearse and don’t even think twice about it. Expect to see him once again have another dud of a game and unfortunately, another game where he’s not a focal part on offense.
