2017 SEASON OUTLOOK
Once camp breaks. Powell will show that he should be the feature back. He doesn’t have the wear and tear that most backs do at his age. So, he can shine in 2017.
He will be one of the security blankets the young quarterbacks will need. He can run and catch passes out of the backfield. In addition to that, Powell can line up in the slot and run routes, if necessary.
Powell will be the veteran presence the offense needs as he will finally get his chance. This will be his time to step up and prove he can be a quality starting running back for the Jets.
TRAINING CAMP PREDICTION
Matt Forte is clearly not the weapon he once was. Age and attrition have caught up to him, and it’s time for him to step back and take a lesser role. Powell will step up during training camp and take his rightful place.
