In Round 3 of the 2017 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected wide receiver ArDarius Stewart out of Alabama. Fans have chimed in their thoughts on Twitter.

In case you missed it, the New York Jets have officially selected wide receiver ArDarius Stewart out of Alabama. General manager Mike Maccagnan knew that at some point, he needed to draft some new offensive playmakers for the offensive side of the football.

No matter who is under center at quarterback for the Jets this upcoming season, it’s imperative that they added another versatile receiving option. Whether it’s Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg, having another young receiver that hustles to make plays will only help their overall development.

If you’re not on Twitter yet, it’s highly recommended for fans of the Jets since it’s easy to interact with each other and even with actual players and personalities. We at The Jet Press asked Jets Nation what their thoughts were on Stewart and well, many feel he could be a hidden gem of this year’s draft.

Of course, it’s hard to tell how his career will pan out but initially, there is hope that he could turn into a nice receiving option. One of which can also contribute on special teams since last season, the unit left much to the imagination.

If the Jets can utilize Stewart’s speed to get better field positioning on special teams, he will undoubtedly work his way up the depth chart. Either way, only time will tell how his rookie season will pan out this upcoming season.

General manager Mike Maccagnan is so far having a solid draft, especially on the defensive side of the football. Adding another decent wide receiver was bound to happen and for all we know, he could have found one that could light up the scene this upcoming season.

Here are what fans of the Jets had to say initially when Stewart was drafted:

He was a little under the radar, but WR #ArDariusStewart might be a better pro than he was in college. I like this #Jets pick.
