After researching the weekly matchups, team performances, and playoff hunt teams, I have identified the invaluable players for this week. Be sure to sit these 10 players heading into Week 14 if you want to be your league’s fantasy football champion.

10. Dwayne Allen, TE – Indianapolis Colts

Although the tight end position isn’t the highest-scoring position in fantasy football, Dwayne Allen hasn’t even come close to being fantasy football relevant this season.

Allen has only earned double-digit points three times this season. One of those performances came last week against the New York Jets.

Allen scored three touchdowns in last week’s showdown. He earned over 30 points in standard leagues. However, this week’s matchup won’t offer the same results. Allen takes on the Houston Texans who rank top five against the position.

Also, keep in mind, the Indianapolis Colts also have Jack Doyle who has been a great end zone target. With the possibility of Doyle getting action, you can’t trust Allen will have another amazing week. Sit him!

9. DeVante Parker, WR – Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have had a shockingly decent season. Unfortunately, DeVante Parker hasn’t. Parker has only earned double-digit fantasy points four times. Last week, Parker completed 3-of-4 targets for a little under 35 yards and a touchdown; he earned 10 fantasy points if you were lucky.

Parker has found the end zone in two of his last three games but, is still not a reliable fantasy football option. Not only is he dealing with a back injury but, this week he takes on the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals have surrendered the fewest touchdowns in the league. It’s not the week put your faith in Parker.

Next: 8. This quarterback has seen better days

8. Tyrod Taylor, QB – Buffalo Bills

Tyrod Taylor isn’t QB1 material. However, if you’re in a QB2 league he can earn your team some decent fantasy football points but, not on a weekly basis. And, last week’s performance is a great example.

Taylor completed 18-of-35 passes for about 190 yards. He had no touchdowns and one interception. Luckily for fantasy owners, he received a few extra points after adding 30 rushing yards. But, he still only managed to earn about 10 points.

This week the Buffalo Bills take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not only have they held their opponents to 15 touchdowns this season but, last week the Steelers held Eli Manning to less than 200 yards and only about 11 fantasy points.

If you want to win, don’t start Taylor in his Week 14 matchup.

7. T.J. Yeldon, RB – Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars can’t catch a break. All their running backs have fallen short to injuries; luckily, T.J. Yeldon could play through his last week.

Last week, he rushed for 55 yards on 14 carries. He added less than 30 yards after completing 3-of-7 targets; he only earned about nine fantasy football points.

This week he takes on the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings not only have a top defense but, they recently held Theo Riddick to 35 rushing yards and eight fantasy football points.

His weekly matchup and ongoing injury keep him off this week’s starting lineup. Sit Yeldon in all leagues.

6. Martellus Bennett, TE – New England Patriots

When Rob Gronkowski was ruled out for the rest of the season, fantasy football owners immediately looked for Martellus Bennett on the waiver wire. However, he hasn’t produced the numbers we expected.

Bennett has only earned double-digits three times this season. Last week he barely earned one point! He completed 2-of-4 targets for just  four yards. This touchdown-dependent player just isn’t pulling through.

This week the New England Patriots take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are only offering opponents 220 yards per game which, isn’t looking for Bennett.

With Julian Edelman being Tom Brady’s main and favorite target, Bennett’s fantasy value has dropped over the last two weeks. He is a must sit this week and in my opinion for the rest of the season.

Next: 5. This receivers injury makes him inconsistent

5. Sammy Watkins, WR – Buffalo Bills

I have lost all faith in Sammy Watkins. You just can’t trust a player who has dealt with a season long on and off injury.

His injury is making him an inconsistent fantasy play. In Week 13, he completed 3-of-9 targets for less than 40 yards. He earned about four fantasy points.

Heading into Week 14, Watkins has an ideal matchup against the Steelers who rank 19th in yards allowed. Unfortunately, his injury drops his value and adds him to this week’s sit ‘em list.

Don’t blow the playoffs on an injured player! Make sure to sit Watkins this week.

4. Baltimore Ravens D/ST

The Baltimore Ravens D/ST has had a productive fantasy football season. There were only three games in which they didn’t earn double-digit points.

In six of their matchups, the Ravens even managed to earn over 30 fantasy football points. And, the Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith came back from injury last week which aided in their Week 13 win against the Miami Dolphins.

More from The Jet Press

However, this week the Ravens take on the New England Patriots. The Los Angeles Rams D/ST was held to less than 10 fantasy points last week against the Patriots. The week before, the Jets D/ST was held to about four fantasy points.

Given the past histories with D/ST against the Patriots, I am just not confident in starting the Ravens D/ST in Week 14. Play it safe, sit them this week.

Next: 3. This running back won't post giant numbers

3. Rashad Jennings, RB – New York Giants

Coming into the season everyone expected Rashad Jennings to explode. The explosion he had been when he injured himself in Week 2.

Since his Week 6 return, Jennings has only earned double-digit fantasy football points three times. Last week was one of those performances as he rushed six times for a little under 20 yards. But, it was his six pass completions and touchdown that offered owners points.

This week, Jennings takes on division rivals the Dallas Cowboys. In their Week 1 matchup, Jennings carried the ball 18 times for 75 yards. He added three receiving yards on a lonely completion earning about seven six fantasy points.

Jennings also lost playing time to rookie Paul Perkins. With Jennings sharing time and the Cowboys ranking fourth against the run, Jennings is a must sit for this week’s fantasy football playoffs.

Next: 2. This Jet hasn't left the runway this season

2. Brandon Marshall, WR – New York Jets

It has been a terrible season for the New York Jets. And, it’s been even worse than terrible for Brandon Marshall.

A first-round fantasy football draft pick, Marshall just hasn’t lived up to his name. He’s only earned double-digit points in four of his outings this season.

Over his last seven matchups, Marshall has only scored one touchdown. Marshall also has only topped 100-yards twice this season.

This week the Jets take on the San Francisco 49ers. Although the 49ers have seen their struggles this season, Marshall just can’t be trusted. Especially with Bryce Petty at starting quarterback.

November 6, 2016; Santa Clara, CA, USA; New Orleans Saints tight end Coby Fleener (82) is tackled by San Francisco 49ers inside linebacker Nick Bellore (50) during the first quarter at Levi

1. Coby Fleener, TE – New Orleans Saints

Tight end Coby Fleener is as inconsistent as they come. As the New Orleans Saints prepare to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Fleener continues to be the odd man out.

Make no mistake about it, he isn’t getting the job done and hasn’t scored a touchdown in two weeks. There was a ton of optimism that Fleener would be the next big thing on the Saints offense but he hasn’t live up to such hype.

It’s best to sit Fleener this week since the Buccaneers will be able to keep him contained and then some. He hasn’t been targeted for more than 10 attempts since Week 3.

Fantasy football owners would be wise to sit Fleener this week. He’s too risky to start in the grand scheme of things, especially for a rather unproductive tight end.
