Heading into Week 9 Fantasy Football action, running back Bilal Powell is a must-start against the Miami Dolphins.

The New York Jets are in a rather interesting situation. They’re riding a two-game winning streak and it’s no secret how they were able to put together consecutive victories. The Jets decided to stop trying to win football games on the arm of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and focus more on running. Fantasy football owners this week are presented with the option of starting running back Bilal Powell as he goes up against the Miami Dolphins.

In the grand scheme of things, fantasy owners should use Powell as either an RB2 or FLEX option this week. The Dolphins have been just as inconsistent as the Jets even though they also are on a two-game winning streak. The Jets know the formula to win is the time of possession battle and sticking to what works.

Last week, Powell totaled his best game of the season so far. Against the Cleveland Browns, Powell earned 76 rushing yards on six attempts and a touchdown. Considering it was his very first touchdown of the season, means that the skill is obviously there.

To beat the Dolphins means the Jets must continue feeding the football to their running backs, especially one as versatile as Powell. He’s also been a very good receiving option out of the backfield in the past but hasn’t been utilized properly by the Jets.

Considering that Powell only has 159 receiving yards on 25 receptions means he could be used as an x-factor in this matchup. It’s important the Jets leave Miami victorious and the only way to win is to beat the Dolphins on the ground.

Fantasy football owners should expect to see Powell be a difference maker against the Dolphins. He should earn a good amount of fantasy points as it’s his time to start heating up in November. Powell should see the end zone at least once or twice in what should be a great matchup in Week 9.
