When it comes to Week 9 of Fantasy Football, make sure to sit the D/ST of the New York Jets. They are set to go up against the Miami Dolphins.

It’s no secret that the New York Jets defensive performance as a whole this season has been atrocious. While the Miami Dolphins offense is nothing to fear, Gang Greens defense still serves as a safe sit. Their fantasy football stats thus far in 2016 has been pretty abysmal.

Miami’s offense ranks as the 7th-24th best offense in all categories. They’re the 21st best offense in points per game with 20.9 and 18th best in total yards with 349.6. In passing yards, they are the 24th best with 229.6 and 7th in rushing yards per game with 120.

Gotham’s defense is the worst defense in the league against the pass. They are ranked as the 32nd worst defense allowing 289.1 passing yards per game. However, despite the Jets having arguably the worst secondary in the league, they contain the best defensive front against the run which only allows 74 rushing yards a game.

The Jets defense has been a major disappointment not only during the regular season but during fantasy football as well. This defensive unit has scored four or fewer points in five of their last seven games including four games with two or fewer points. It’s also worth mentioning that opposing defenses have averaged a mere 3.3 points against Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill in recent weeks.

Gang Green’s defense will have their hands full this Sunday, with wide receiver Jarvis Landry and running back Jay Ajayi. Ajayi will be facing the No.1 ranked defense against the run this Sunday. However, Ajayi is coming off two consecutive 200-plus yardage games in which he has recorded back to back double-digit fantasy games with 27.60 and 32.70 points.

Landry hasn’t put up amazing fantasy stats this season, however, wideouts have caught about 70% of their passes this season when being covered by Darrelle Revis.

As mentioned before, the Jets defense ranks as the 32nd worst defense against the pass as well. Revis is no longer a threat to opposing wide receivers fantasy value which makes Landry a solid WR2 option. In conclusion, bench the Jets defense as their recent fantasy track record this season has been nothing but atrocious.
