Heading into Fantasy Football Week 6, running back Bilal Powell could finally have a breakout game against the Arizona Cardinals.
It won’t be easy this week but running back Bilal Powell of the New York Jets hits the road this week to face the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. The Cardinals’ defense is very good and will undoubtedly bring it to the Jets in front of their home crowd. Fantasy football owners should consider starting Powell this week since he hasn’t been used as much as he should be on offense.
It’s no secret that Powell has been underused by the Jets as they haven’t utilized him to his potential. Powell is a hybrid threat capable of also being a receiving option out of the backfield. Considering Powell has yet to score a touchdown this season, this could be the week they use him as a difference-maker.
Running back Matt Forte hasn’t been consistent at all so far this season. It could be his nagging hamstring injury or the fact that age could be catching up to him. Regardless, he’s not getting the job done and also hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 2 this season.
The Jets are built to run the football yet they have this delusion they’ll win football games by having quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick air it out. Against the Cardinals, they can’t afford to continue with what they’ve been doing the past few weeks.

As a ground-and-pound team, expect to see the Jets do their very best to establish the run against the Cardinals. While all eyes will be on Forte, Powell should be the one to make the most out of his opportunities.
If the Jets want to have a shot at beating the Cardinals, it’s all about using their offensive stars to their potential. Powell brings a speedy, dual-threat presence and honestly since Forte isn’t getting the job done, should go with him instead this week.
Expect to see Powell end his streak of not scoring a touchdown and surprise many in front of the primetime audience. Fantasy owners should consider Powell as their FLEX option this week as he should be able to at least score a touchdown or two.
Overall, this is the perfect week to take the risk and start Powell. He’s unknown to the masses and might still even be available in fantasy leagues. The Cardinals might not know what hits them if Powell gets hot at a time the Jets need it to salvage their season.
