When it comes to his Fantasy Football value in Week 1 action, running back Matt Forte of the New York Jets will take off with his new team.

As the fantasy football season is finally upon us, owners everywhere are excited for what should be another memorable year. Everything from winning close games to finding hidden sleepers nobody ever thought about, this fantasy season will be a great one indeed. When it comes to running back Matt Forte of the New York Jets, owners should highly consider making him their RB2 in his Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Forte is entering a glorious situation with the Jets as their rushing attack will be one of their main strengths heading into the upcoming season. Due to having a brutal schedule right out the gates, the Jets will heavily emphasize establishing the run in order to win the time of possession battle.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick won’t be relied upon like last season to carry this offense on his shoulders. Instead, the Jets will launch a potent rushing attack led by Forte and running back Bilal Powell. Both of which possess incredible skill-sets with being able to effectively run with the football or be a receiving option right out of the backfield.

There is always something special when a veteran running back makes his debut on a new team. It’s no secret that Forte will have a huge chip on his shoulder due to the Chicago Bears not wanting to re-sign him this past offseason. He will prove his worth consistently in 2016 as it all starts in Week 1 against the Bengals.

Forte still has a lot of gas left in the tank and will undoubtedly run with purpose in this matchup.

Expect to see the “workhorse” receive the majority of reps against the Bengals which will let him wreak havoc early and often.

Considering that Forte could double up fantasy points as a receiving option bodes well for owners to put him in this week in their starting lineups or possibly even as a flex option.

Even though Forte should not be considered an RB1 option, if all goes envisioned he could develop into one if he starts to make some serious noise.

Fantasy owners should start Forte this week as if the Jets are going to win this game, it all starts with establishing the run. There is no one more capable of doing that then Forte who will do his very best to silence his critics.

Overall, expect to see Forte run wild over a Bengals’ defense that won’t have any answers for him. Owners should confidently expect a big game out of Forte and monitor him weekly to see when he enters an even more favorable matchup where he can bring back that old magic he established just a few years ago with the Bears.
