NY Jets: Color Rush Campaign reveals new uniforms

It was revealed on Thursday Night Football that the NY Jets would don some new uniforms that would pay homage to their roots from a few decades ago.

Finally, the NY Jets are going to change up their uniforms thanks to the ‘NFL Nike Color Rush Campaign’ that’ll take effect when the Jets take on the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football in a couple weeks.

Kelly Green? Yes, you read that correctly. A color that’s an iconic representative of the team’s past. Thanks to www.newyorkjets.com for providing some more details on the campaign and when Jets fans can see more then a simple flash of the video.

Players’ uniforms will be flooded with color as they are draped from jerseys to cleats in one of the team’s current or historic colors. With the campaign surrounding Thursday Night Football, every club will have the opportunity to showcase its spirited fans and cities through color in primetime in 2015.

The eight teams that will be showcasing the campaign are:

Nov. 12 (Week 10) — Bills (Red) at Jets (Kelly Green) (NFLN)

Nov. 19 (Week 11) — Titans (Titans Blue) at Jaguars (Bold Gold) (NFLN)

Nov. 26  (Week 12) — Panthers (Panthers Blue) at Cowboys (White) (CBS)

Dec. 17 (Week 15) — Buccaneers (Red) at Rams (Yellow Gold) (NFLN)

Each team’s full uniform will be shown during the Thursday Night Football game the week before the club’s Color Rush game. The Jets’ full uniform — which will include tweaks to the helmet — will be unveiled during the Browns-Bengals game next Thursday night, Nov. 5, on NFL Network.

Over the past several years we, saw the New York Titans retro jerseys, but thanks to new protocols by the NFL, teams can’t alter helmets during the season, which all but eliminated the Jets wearing these old uniforms for the present. When the NFL agreed to allow Nike to re-do all the NFL’s teams jerseys, the Jets got a bit of a face-lift, but nothing too crazy.

Now the imaginations of Jets Nation can begin to wonder in anticipation of these new jerseys and maybe if they’re a big hit they can stick. I’ve always been a fan of the alternate jerseys and this campaign is music to my ears. Can’t wait to see the Kelly Green in full effect!
