New York Jets: #JetsTwitter for Week 2
By Todd Gerstenhaber
I may make this a weekly staple of mine about the New York Jets. I am a HUGE Twitter fan. One of the main reasons I am on Twitter is to see the reactions – and overreactions – of Jets fans first hand. Come football season, #JetsTwitter is alive and well.
A community of writers, fans, reporters and players themselves all converge to create twitter madness. Here are a few samplings of my favorite tweets. If you would like to be considered for next week’s edition, I will pay particular attention to posts that utilize #JetsTwitter and mention us @TheJetPress which is our official handle.
Big WIN in Indy last night. @nyjets 2-0 looking good. Great chance at home vs a winless Philly team this Sunday. 3-0 here we go.

Former Jet hero Wayne Chrebet is a part of #JetsTwitter. Every game is important, and he knows that next week is another huge opportunity to set the table for the rest of the season.

This is a rare cameo from a Bills’ fan. After another week of being harassed by a swarming defense, Andrew Luck‘s frustration level must be at an all time high…

The Jets certainly showed up on the Monday Night Football stage, just not with their singing abilities…

Due to Ryan Fitzpatrick‘s propensity to take chances when a chance doesn’t need to be taken, many folks on twitter have dubbed him “J.R. Fitz” as an homage to former Knick shot-hurler J.R. Smith.
What a great team win, grit and determination I love this team. #Jetlife

#JetsTwitter also features current Jets players. Leger Douzable (“Douzzzzzz”) chimes in simply here.
2-0
— Jeff Cumberland (@Cumberland85) September 22, 2015
The Jets players keep it simple on twitter. Nothing more needs to be said on their part besides what Cumberland just said.

You have to admit, this was most of you this morning. Personally, I walked out of my apartment this morning listening to “I’m Coming Home” in anticipation of the Jets’ return to MetLife Stadium to face the Eagles.
On to Philadelphia.. https://t.co/Mp3CnVWvAO

This is one of the most underrated tweets in response to the last night’s game. You need to click the full post to appreciate it in all it’s glory. This is the a top-notch troll job.
Two years ago, I couldn't have imagined this exchange ever happening again… #RevisIsland #Woody #jets pic.twitter.com/xVbVTUfzNL

As a Jets fan, this has to be an emotional moment. Kim is right, who would’ve seen this coming?

I think posting random seductive pictures of Eric Decker whenever he does anything good should become a thing. In my opinion, this was a top tweet in response to Decker’s touchdown reception in the first quarter.
Tune in next week for more highlights from #JetsTwitter! Win, lose or draw, I can tell you this: it will be entertaining!
