Since the Jets have the week off, “Throwback Thursday” is looking back at a week 11 contest from 2010. That year, the Jets played host to the Houston Texans.

The Jets were in the midst of their best season under head coach Rex Ryan, riding high on a two game winning streak, and winning seven out of their previous eight games. The Texans, on the other hand, entered the game in the middle of the pack, with a 4-5 record.

This one looked like the Jets had it in hand, but it ended up playing out in the final minute of the game. The star of the day? The above pictured Santonio Holmes.

The Jets fell behind in the second quarter by a 7-3 score, after Texans RB Arian Foster took a handoff from Matt Schaub from two yards out and took it in for the score. The Jets came right back, midway through the quarter, when Mark Sanchez hooked up with Braylon Edwards on a four yard touchdown pass, giving them a 10-7 lead. The first half ended with the Jets leading by a score of 13-7.

In the third quarter, the Jets opened the lead up to 20-7, when Sanchez connected with Santonio Holmes on a 41 yard TD pass for the only score of the quarter. When the Jets made it 23-7 in the final period, it would seem that the Jets had an easy victory in hand. But we all know that is not how it works for our beloved New York Jets.
