Let’s get to the famous “Good, Bad and Ugly” look at the Jets 31-17 loss yesterday to the Denver Broncos:

THE GOOD

1)Jace Amaro posted a breakout game yesterday. He has been getting better and better every week, and yesterday it culminated with a 10 reception game for 68 yards and Amaro’s first career touchdown. He had some drops that he has to work on obviously, and when he is a target on third down, he has to learn to run his route to the first down marker, but he is getting much better.

2)Eric Decker moved around quite well. Despite telling the TV broadcast team that he was 85% back, he didn’t seem hampered by his injury, catching six passes for 54 yards and a touchdown.

3)Philip Adams looked like a bit of a sleeper choice at cornerback. After posting an interception last week, Adams made another strong play on a potential deep scoring attempt.

4)The pass rush looked good early. In the first half, the Jets posted two sacks, and were in Peyton Manning‘s face constantly. Manning looked uncomfortable.

THE BAD

1)The Jets continue to miss the mark with second half adjustments. The defense had Peyton Manning on the ropes a bit during the first half, but you could see he was starting to come out of it. The Jets needed to make adjustments to stay with him, and they didn’t right away. The game became 24-7, making it nearly impossible for the Jets to get back in it. It’s a game of adjustments. Manning makes them, the defense doesn’t make enough of them.

2)Walter Powell is just not impressive as a kick returner of any format. He did set the Jets up with one 15 yard punt return, but otherwise, he was awful. Two fumbles, one of them called back after further review, is far from anything to write home about. Maybe the Jets need to stick with Jeremy Kerley at punt returner, and figure out somebody, anybody to return kickoffs. God knows we return a lot of them with all of the scores the team gives up.

3)Geno Smith had an improved game yesterday, but not enough to hit the good side. He made better decisions for the most part, but the problem for me was that he couldn’t lead the team on a drive when they needed it most. That is why Geno makes the bad list this week.

1)The running game for the Jets was downright brutal. BRU-TAL. Geno Smith led the way with two rushes for 11 yards. Whether it was a good defensive gameplan by the Broncos, or just a terrible performance, there is nothing else to be said about the running game.

2)Dee Milliner‘s career is turning into this list, by no fault of his own. He left the game with what may be a serious Achilles injury, more tests coming today. Milliner may be a guy with all of the talent in the world, but injury prone. It’s a shame.

3)Can Kyle Wilson please be removed from our field, permanently? He now can’t even catch an interception thrown right to him, that hits him in the leg. I never want to see him play football again.
