Here are some reactions from the Jets after today’s loss to the Broncos. First here is coach Rex Ryan on the missed interception by Kyle Wilson:

Sometimes, you put in that call from the sideline hoping we get an opportunity at one. Kyle did a tremendous job on that play. He played to his help. It was really a great play. Unfortunately, when he turned, the ball was right on top of him. That just seems like the story of our season right now. We haven’t been able to force the big turnover. There’s an old saying ‘If you stay in it long enough, it’ll level out.’ I hope that happens sooner than later.

Rex on being 1-5:

I think you know how I feel about a 1-5 start. It’s not even close to where we thought we’d be. All the wishing and everything else isn’t going to change anything. We have to find ways to win, and we have to do it in a hurry. Going on the road to play Thursday is a big challenge, but I think we have the men in that locker room. We’re going to give every ounce of energy we have at it and prepare. We’re going to go up there and play the best game we possibly can. It would be nice to find a way to win.

Geno Smith was asked if he felt that he needed to get rid of the football quickly:

Knowing that they have some really good pass rushers, we knew that the ball would have to come out quick. Obviously, they’ve got some pretty good guys in the secondary as well. We challenged our guys this week to get off bump (coverage), to create separation. For the most part I think they did a phenomenal job. Jace (Amaro) was getting open all night. Greg Salas did a great job. I wish I could have gotten Jeremy Kerley involved a little bit more. (Eric Decker) did a great job. I think we had opportunities there for us. We capitalized on a few but just not enough.

On his feeling following the game:

Obviously, I’m frustrated. Five losses in a row, obviously has everyone frustrated. But I’m optimistic. I’m always looking forward and just have to prepare for this week. We’ve got a short week (against) a tough New England team on the road. (It’s) another test for us. We better be able to step up to it.

Eric Decker talked about scoring a TD after the game might have been out of reach:

We put a couple good drives together in the second half. It just wasn’t enough, obviously, to do anything. But it was encouraging to have some of those drives and convert on third downs and get in the red area and score touchdowns.
