Why won’t the Jets listen?

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 18 Comments

Most NFL experts, besides Favre lovers have been watching this happen for years. Why couldn’t Woody and Tannenbaum see it? Here’s a article from Sal Paolantonio from last March, before the Jets made the mistake. Overhyped: Favre didn’t deliver in second half of career Comment Email Print By Sal Paolantonio ESPN.com Archive Scott Boehm/Getty Images In the playoffs, Brett Favre was 3-5 with 14 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions. We interrupt the continued deification of Brett Favre — a first-ballot Hall of Famer and the most durable player in NFL history — with the following reality check. Yes, Favre played [...]

Please Retire Already!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Brett… Please… Retire already… I was sick of watching this crap in Green Bay, and I’m even more sick of it now. Look, you’re a good guy who should ride off into the sunset with some semblance of a legacy. Please don’t allow this to turn ugly, which it will if you return for another season. This team is built for running the ball and playing defense. They now have a coach who was raised in that philosophy. If there is any chance of you playing again for gang green it will have to be as a game manager. If [...]

New York Jets – Close but Not Close Enough

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

By Ian James As we approach Super Bowl XLIII, NFL betting fans wonder what happened to the Jets and Broadway Brett? They looked like they were on their way to the promise land mid-season, but slipped up when it mattered most losing 4 of their last 5 games, including an embarrassing 13-3 loss on the final Sunday of the regular season to the meager Seattle Seahawks. Their overall record of 9-7 put them 3rd in the AFC East division and on the outside looking in as the playoffs started. If there was any consolation, the Patriots finished at 11-5 and [...]

REX TAKES THE REIGNS!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

Apparently Woody Johnson has realized that this team should be built through the defense. If Ryan brings the run first, protect the defense attitude to the Jets, then this could be a match made in heaven. Ryan has loads of experience and has the most polished resume of all the other coordinator candidates. The New York Media should love this guy. He’s confident, talented and is well respected by his players. The Jets are close and because Ryan runs a 3-4, the Jets have most of the personel they need to make this a seamless transition. The quarterback situation is [...]

Ryan emerges as favorite…

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

All reports point to Rex Ryan as the favorite to land the job in New York. The good news with this hiring would be the ability of Ryan to keep the defense in a 3-4 scheme and build this team as a run first outfit. This is what has been going on in Baltimore and what should’ve been going on in the Meadowlands for both squads. While I think the Jets should go hard core after Shannahan, Ryan is tops of the coordinator candidates. Ryan is a no nonsense guy who should have no problem developing a first year starter [...]

Who’s the Boss? Shannahan should be!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Jets are in a tough position right now. Potential suiters for the head coaching position are going to want to know what Brett Favre’s future is with this organization before accepting the position. Actually, I take that back. Any potential candidates that have a proven track record and are not a shot in the dark will want to know what Favre’s story is before taking the gig. The Jets have made it clear that they will not give personnel control to anyone, though they said they were willing to share duties with Tannenbaum and the new coach. I’m not [...]

Jones takes leadership role!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Soon after being voted the team MVP, Thomas Jones spoke out against Brett Favre. We all know ESPN & the NFL have had a love affair with this guy for years, but the bottom line is he’s un-coachable. There is no reason any QB should come to a new team and have the entire offense change. The Jets were built to run the ball and play defense and the addition of Favre and his “me first” mentality screwed with the entire organization (except for Jersey sales & PSL’s of course). It’s hilarious how all these “experts” have been bashing Jones [...]
