The New York Jets' pass rush had left a lot to be desired over the last few weeks. After relatively ineffective outings against the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, they exploded in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, recording eight sacks on Deshaun Watson.

No. 2 overall pick David Bailey made a statement in the victory, piling up three sacks and getting credited with nine pressures, per Next Gen Stats. Even with Joseph Ossai leaving the game with an injury, the Jets' defensive front made their presence felt, and at the perfect time.

Heading into Week 6, the Jets are going to need their pass rush to replicate the outing they had against Cleveland if they have any hope of taking down their AFC East division rival New England Patriots. It's a tall task as it is, but not impossible.

Fortunately for the Jets' defensive front, the Patriots' offensive line suffered a major blow on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. 2025 No. 4 overall pick Will Campbell went down with a serious-looking knee injury, and his status against the Jets is in jeopardy.

Patriots' Will Campbell unlikely to be available in Week 6 vs. New York Jets

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided an update on Campbell late Sunday night, and the image he painted doesn't sound like the recent first-round draft choice will be ready to play by next weekend.

"Will Campbell, whose day was cut short today with injury, is believed to have suffered a knee sprain, sources say, and he’ll have an MRI tomorrow to confirm. This will likely cause him to miss some time."

With Campbell out of the lineup, an already questionable Patriots offensive line looks even more vulnerable than usual. The former LSU standout is no All-Pro, but his backup can't be much better,

New England's offensive line has allowed 11 sacks through five games, tied for the eighth-most in the NFL. If the Jets can replicate the same amount of pressure they got against Cleveland, this should be a clear advantage.

One side they may not have an easy time with, though, is the right tackle, Caleb Lomu. The Patriots' 2026 first-round draft pick has been stellar so far this season.

In Week 5 against the Raiders, Lomu only allowed one pressure and zero hits on 29 pass-blocking reps. Whether it's Bailey, Kingsley Enagbare, or Will McDonald IV going up against him, they'll certainly have their hands full.
