Week 10 win confirmed what Jets fans already knew about Breece Hall

The New York Jets picked up another win on Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Cleveland Browns 27-20 in the rain at MetLife Stadium. For Aaron Glenn, it was his first home win as the Jets have now won back-to-back games, including this one coming off the bye week.

It was a huge day for the Jets' special teams, which saw a kick return touchdown from Kene Nwangwu and a punt return touchdown from Isaiah Williams. The Jets' pass rush also had a big day, led by Will McDonald, who tallied four sacks, helping the Jets get to Dillon Gabriel six times on the afternoon.

Despite struggles from Justin Fields, Breece Hall was able to save the Jets offense with a big performance. This comes after a hectic week of trade rumors surrounding Hall, whose name has been in rumors dating back to the offseason.

Sunday, though, was another reminder that Breece Hall needs to remain a focal point in this offense and needs to be a Jet long-term.

Breece Hall needs to be part of Jets' long term plans

After a bumpy start to the game for the Jets offense, which saw Justin Fields have -5 net passing yards at halftime, Breece Hall was able to wake up the offense. To open up the fourth quarter, Hall's 42-yard receiving touchdown on a screen pass gave the Jets a 24-17 lead.

The Jets as a team had 54 receiving yards, and Hall had 42 of those on one play. The 24-year-old also registered 83 yards on the ground to hit an impressive 125 scrimmage yards in the game.

Despite all of the outside noise surrounding Hall, the fourth-year running back has put together a very strong season so far. Hall has tallied 138 carries for 664 yards and two rushing touchdowns this season while averaging an impressive 4.8 yards per carry. The 2022 second-round pick has also rushed for over 100 yards in three games already this year.

When called upon in the pass game, Hall has come through there as well. The Iowa State product has accumulated 22 receptions for 220 yards, and Sunday's receiving touchdown was his first of the season.

This has put the fourth-year running back in a prime position for another season over 1,000 scrimmage yards and on pace for his first 1,000-yard rushing season of his young career.

It's simple: Breece Hall needs to be part of the Jets' long-term plans and a focal point of the offense moving forward. His home run ability on the ground and as a receiver is the biggest weapon for Tanner Engstrand to use moving forward.

Hall's ability is also a huge piece in helping the eventual rookie quarterback. In an offense that already features Garrett Wilson, a rock-solid offensive line, and a promising tight end in Mason Taylor, Hall just adds another level to the foundation around whoever the Jets select at quarterback.

Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn need to keep Hall around long-term this offseason. At his best, the star running back is near the top of the league at his position.
