It's tough to truly encapsulate the misery of New York Jets fans with just a few words, especially after recent seasons' showings. Being a Jets fan is not for the faint of heart.
But, alas, there is always hope for next year. That's what makes being a fan worthwhile -- at least that's what we keep telling ourselves.
After one of the wildest NFL trade deadlines we have seen in recent history, and of course in Jets history, this organization is, at the very least, loaded up for a rebuild in the coming years. Trading players like cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams headline only a few moves made by general manager Darren Mougey.
Now, the question is, will Mougey and company be able to get these future picks right?
Let's take a look at what the Jets will be cooking with for the 2026 NFL Draft and beyond.
NY Jets 2026 draft picks
Round 1 (Jets)
Round 1 (Colts)
Round 2 (Jets)
Round 2 (Cowboys)
Round 4 (Jets)
Round 6 (Bills)
Round 7 (Titans)
Round 7 (Bills)
Thanks to the Gardner and Williams trades, specifically, the Jets added an extra first rounder courtesy of Indianapolis and a second rounder by way of Dallas.
NY Jets 2027 draft picks
Round 1 (Jets)
Round 1 (Colts)
Round 1 (Most likely Cowboys)
Round 2 (Jets)
Round 3 (Jets)
Round 4 (Jets)
Round 5 (Jets)
Round 6 (Chiefs)*
Round 6 (Eagles)
The 2027 NFL Draft might be even more worthwhile for Jets fans. The pick acquired in the Williams trade will wind up being the lower between Dallas and Green Bay (the Cowboys had two thanks to the Micah Parsons trade).
The anticipation of having three first rounders is something that could really spark hope in the form of something this fan base hasn't had in a very long time.
Depending upon how this organization uses their draft capital in 2026, they could be set up for an exciting opportunity the following year. Of course, the big question is, which class will allow them to find their quarterback of the future?
There are sure to be plenty of fans clamoring for the likes of Arch Manning, but he may hold out until the 2027 draft at this point. It'll be curious to watch the quarterback plans unfold for Mougey and the front office.
For now, fans will have to continue enduring the pain and agony of watching current cornerstones get dealt away and hope for better days ahead.
