The NY Jets have put together some spirited efforts in the last few weeks despite facing two superior opponents in the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens, but their two most recent losses (including a 23-10 defeat in Week 12 against Baltimore) have dropped them to 2-9 on the season.
While Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey are trying to set the stage for 2026, Jets fans are already very excited about the upcoming offseason. They will be in position to possibly select a quarterback high in the 2026 NFL Draft, and their recent trades gave them a whopping four picks they can use in the first two rounds.
With some teams at the bottom of the 2026 NFL Draft order picking up some victories in Week 12 and changing the Jets' outlook, they should look at where they are and get even more excited about what could happen if they add the right passer.
Updated 2026 NFL Draft order after Jets lose to Ravens in Week 12
1. Tennessee Titans (1-10)
2. New York Giants (2-10)
3. New Orleans Saints (2-9)
4. New York Jets (2-9)
5. Las Vegas Raiders (2-9)
6. Cleveland Browns (3-8)
7. Washington Commanders (3-8)
8. Cincinnati Bengals (3-8)
9. Arizona Cardinals (3-8)
10. Miami Dolphins (4-7)
Interestingly for the Jets, there is a scenario in which all three of the teams ahead of them in the order do not take a quarterback or trade away their pick. The Titans and Giants have their guys in Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart, respectively, while the Saints could take the best player available and build around rookie Tyler Shough.
The two teams most likely to take a quarterback alongside the Jets in this cycle are the Raiders and Browns. Even still, the Jets have an easier schedule than the Raiders should the tiebreakers become a factor, and the Browns now have one extra win after beating Vegas in Week 12.
No matter what happens this season, the quarterback-needy Jets will likely be in a position to strike on one of the consensus top-three players in this draft. New York, if they want a QB, could end up with Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, Alabama's Ty Simpson, or Oregon's Dante Moore.
The Jets' performance in the last few weeks is exactly what fans should want to see. They are beating teams they should beat, lose very competitively against much better teams, and still remain in position to possibly pull the trigger on a franchise-changing quarterback move.
