In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss the NY Jets' quarterback options in 2025, the Olu Fashanu vs. Brock Bowers debate, the state of the offensive line, and the upcoming Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins.
The bulk of the show was devoted to a discussion about the Jets' quarterback options for 2025. Andy Vasquez of NJ.com released a list of eight potential starting QB candidates for the Jets next offseason.
Justin and Mike went through and broke down every option Vasquez listed, from Tyrod Taylor and Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Travis and even Sam Darnold.
One quarterback who was discussed at length was Justin Fields. The former first-round pick is slated to be a free agent this offseason and could make some sense if the Jets won't be in a position to land any of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Another possible bridge candidate is Jameis Winston. Winston will also be one of the top QBs on the open market this offseason and could give the Jets an exciting stop-gap starter to pair with a rookie.
The conversation then shifted to a breakdown of the Olu Fashanu/Brock Bowers debate that has dominated Jets fan discussions. The Jets' decision to draft Fashanu over Bowers has been heavily criticized, especially given the latter's historic rookie-year dominance.
Did the Jets make the wrong decision passing on Bowers? Not necessarily, especially if Fashanu continues to impress at left tackle. Justin and Mike analyze the subject and give their thoughts on the ongoing debate.
The Gang Green Stat Machine made its return this week as Justin and Mike took a look at a few notable stats from this past week. Joe Tippmann and the Jets' interior offensive line continue to impress while Will McDonald has established himself as one of the NFL's premier pass rushers.
Finally, Justin and Mike took a brief look at the Jets' upcoming Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins. Will the Jets secure a meaningless December win over their rivals or will their pro-tank endeavors continue?
