In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano discuss whether or not the New York Jets should or will trade a number of players, which players they could target in trades, and react to the Michael Carter II deal live.

This was our dedicated trade deadline special, where Justin and Mike broke down seven players on the Jets’ roster, making the case for both keeping and trading each one before giving their final predictions.

The show started with a conversation about Breece Hall and his future in New York. Both Justin and Mike agreed it was essentially a 50/50 chance that he would be traded, with each offering up perspectives on why both sides make sense.

The duo of Quincy and Quinnen Williams was up next. While Justin and Mike believe that Quincy Williams has a very good chance of being traded, the same can't be said for Quinnen Williams. The latter feels like more of an offseason conversation, while the former seems destined for a reunion with Robert Saleh in San Francisco.

The next player Justin and Mike discussed came with an unexpected twist. Just moments after breaking down why the Jets were likely to trade Michael Carter II, news broke that the team had done exactly that, sending the former standout nickel cornerback to Philadelphia in a deal that brought back wide receiver John Metchie.

We reacted live to the MC2 trade with instant reactions and analysis. That interrupted our conversation about Allen Lazard, whom both Justin and Mike agreed was a very feasible trade candidate.

The same can't be said for the edge rusher duo of Jermaine Johnson and Will McDonald, who seem likely to remain with the Jets barring a sizable trade offer.

Finally, Justin and Mike took a look at a few players the Jets could target in trades. Mike brought up 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings as a trade target, specifically in a swap for Quincy Williams.

Justin mentioned Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell as a realistic trade candidate, also giving shout-outs to players like WR Jalen Tolbert (Cowboys), DE Arnold Ebiketie (Falcons), OL Brandon Coleman (Commanders), and LB Christian Harris (Texans), among others.
